For 12-year-old Brinlee, her wish for a golden retriever puppy named Darla brought a new kind of joy home.
Brinlee has been navigating a rare nervous system disorder since she began experiencing seizures at age five. As leaving the house has become increasingly difficult, her family has focused on filling their home with as much love and happiness as possible, and Darla has been the perfect addition.
“This wish wasn’t just one day or one week of happiness. This wish is now a part of our family,” Brinlee’s mom shared. Now, even on the difficult days, Darla gives Brinlee and her family another reason to smile and a reminder that the joy of a wish can last far beyond the moment it comes true.
