For 9-year-old Josiah, a trip to Walt Disney World meant more than meeting his favorite characters and experiencing the magic of Disney. It was a chance for his entire family to leave their worries behind and simply enjoy being together.
Since he was just 3 months old, Josiah has spent much of his life navigating doctor’s appointments and treatments for kidney disease. Despite also facing hearing loss and vision challenges, his mom says he has never once complained. Instead, Josiah continues to approach life with remarkable strength, joy and resilience.
Because of his small size and medical challenges, there were many rides Josiah had never been able to experience. But when his wish to visit what he lovingly called “Disneyland World” came true, he was finally able to experience the excitement of roller coasters and the magic of Disney alongside his family.
“Make-A-Wish took over and we had no worries at all,” his mom shared. “Our kids got to see mom and dad just be like them and have fun again. We all got to be kids again.”
For Josiah and his family, this wish was more than a vacation. It was an opportunity to trade appointments for adventure, worries for laughter and everyday challenges for unforgettable memories together. Most importantly, it gave their family the freedom to simply be kids again.
